The commute is from Waterlooville to Farnham, just under 30 miles, and then back again.
About 50% of it is dual carriageway, along the A3, that has a great big roundabout with a sandpaper surface ๐
The rest is an A road up through Bordon.
I guess the main problem with it is that it is actually a very straight route. In fact there are only 11 turns, including coming off my drive.
Even worse, there is actually only two turns in 26 miles, and those turns are 1/4 mile apart after coming off the A3.
One of the best things is seeing the same other bikers each day a nodding or waving.
There are a couple bikers I see every day during the summer and I just get blanked. Hey Ho.
One of the guys I get to meet at the lights once every month or two and we have a quick catch up.
It is odd how I seem to worry when I have not seen a “regular” for a while.
As the weather turns there is a noticeable decrease in the number of riders.
It is a great ride for random weather.
A number of times in the summer I have left home in glorious sunshine, with not a cloud in the sky, just to get 7 miles up the road and drive into thick fog. Not so much fun when you have your best super-dark shades on ๐
